This Privacy Policy explains how Expat Link ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: your email address, used to sign in with a one-time code.
• Device data: a device identifier and device name, used to enforce the 2-device limit.
• Payment data: subscription status and transaction IDs. Card details are processed by our payment providers (Google Play, Apple, Stripe) and never stored by us.
• Technical data: aggregate, non-identifying server metrics (e.g. total bandwidth, server load) and crash reports.

2. What we do not collect

We do not log the websites you visit, the content of your traffic, DNS queries, or link your VPN session activity to your identity.

3. How we use information

To provide and maintain the service, authenticate you, process payments, provide support, and prevent abuse.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the service (hosting, payment processing, email delivery), or when required by applicable law.

5. VPN permission (Android)

The app uses Android's VpnService solely to create the encrypted tunnel you request. Traffic is not inspected, logged or shared.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.

7. Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your data by emailing [email protected].

8. Security

We use encryption in transit and reasonable safeguards to protect your information.

9. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new effective date.
